Hampton Roads Section (SWE-HR) supports the award of the annual Celeste Belcastro Scholarship. Dr. Celeste Belcastro earned both a B.S. and M.E. from Old Dominion University and a PhD from Drexel University. She worked as a Research Engineer at NASA Langley Research Center for 28 years on Flight System Design and Vehicle Health Management. In addition to her professional achievements she was dedicated to STEM outreach in the Hampton Roads area, working with elementary, middle and high school children to encourage interest in technical and scientific fields. In 2008 Dr. Belcastro passed away due to cancer. HR SWE proudly hosts this Scholarship in her name.
